Apple gadgets were constantly improving these days that now they already included the Retina display in their notebook lineup. Recently unveiled by Apple HQ, the MacBook Pro Retina Display now promises to deliver state-of-the-art entertainment but pure power as well. And according to Phil Schiller, senior vice president of worldwide marketing at Apple; the next-gen 15.4 inch MacBook Pro is thinner than his finger measuring at 0.71 inches thick and weighs less than 4.5 pounds. So you can think of it as a mixed-up of design and hardware feature from the new iPad and MacBook Air.

Beauty that is matched by Speed. So what improvements can we find inside the completely revamped next-generation MacBook Pro? Aside from its super HD Retina display, the processing power was now doubled by employing a quad-core Core i7 processor enclosed in an ultrabook-thin aluminum body. Matched and coupled with Nvidia GeForce GT 650M graphics, you can now fully enjoy HD gaming on your laptop. Multitasking different applications at the same time will not be a problem because the new Pro’s starting specs has 8GB of RAM and 256GB of high-speed flash technology storage that can be upgraded to 16GB RAM and 768GB flash storage.

New MacBook Pro with Retina Display

Stunning Display and Graphics. The next-gen MacBook Pro was considered to be the world’s highest resolution notebook. For the 15.4 inch MacBook Pro its Retina display currently measures at 2,880-by-1,800 pixels @ 220 pixels-per-inch. So that’s a total of approximately 5 million pixels covering the whole screen providing you with stunning graphics and much detail. The screen also sports higher contrast ratios compared to older MacBook Pro and uses IPS technology that is viewable at 178-degree. Additionally, the new Pro can provide you 75 percent less reflection compared to its predecessors for outdoor activities with your laptop.

Connectivity. But there’s more, with HDMI port not found on older MacBook Pro you can connect your laptop to your HDTV for more viewing pleasure. The new Pro also included an SDXC card slot, two USB 3.0 ports, headphone port and two Thunderbolt ports. What’s odd about this is that Apple did not include an Ethernet port. For this you have to buy a separate Gigabit Ethernet adapter priced at $29 to connect your next-gen MacBook Pro in your corporate LAN. Isn’t that weird? If you go wireless mode, the new Pro comes with 802.11n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 wireless solutions.

It is now equipped with a new MagSafe 2 connector that only fit to your new MacBook Pro power adapter. Take note that this connector is different from the older MacBook Pro. But if you’re persistent to use your old plugs with your new Pro you have to buy the $9.99 adapter from the Apple Online Store.

Pricing. There are two flavors of 15-inch MacBook Pro Retina display available at the Apple Online Store. If you go for the 2.3 GHz quad-core processor with Turbo Boost of up to 3.3 GHz coupled with 256GB flash storage you will be paying for atleast Php 107,990.00. But if you go higher than this @ 2.6 GHz quad-core processor with Turbo Boost of up to 3.6 GHz with a larger flash storage of 512GB you will have to pay a whopping amount of Php 137,990.00.
