Logitech Unveils Solar Powered Keyboard for iPad

This could be the best iPad case-keyboard ever created as of this date. Unlike the NoteBookCase for iPad 2, you don’t have to charge this keyboard-case from your main AC wall outlet. Just carry it around anywhere you go and it will powered by itself using the light coming from the sun or from a light bulb inside your home. All you have to do is to make sure that the solar cells attached at the case is facing upward and can be reached by any form of light whether indoors or outdoors.

The Logitech Solar Powered Keyboard Folio is designed for both the iPad 2 and the new iPad (3^rd generation) that allows you to type on your tablet via Bluetooth connection. And aside from giving protection on your precious device, this solar keyboard-case from Logitech was also a ‘smart-cover’. That is, it puts your device into sleep mode to conserve battery life when the lid is close and wakes it up when opened.

According to Logitech, the Solar Keyboard Folio can be used for up to 2 years in complete darkness before the battery drains completely. But this claim is to assume that the average usage is only 2 hours per day.

Lastly, with the Logitech Solar Keyboard Folio you can choose from two viewing options for your comfort. When you like to relax and watch movies on your iPad you can slide the multiview stand into entertainment mode. In this mode the media keys was still accessible that gives you control whether you want to play, pause or change volume. Otherwise in typing mode you will enjoy the full keyboard by sliding it backward when in entertainment mode.
