Ooops! Apple did it again. In the arrival of the new iPad a.k.a iPad 3, many Apple fans all over the world were frustrated with the slight hardware improvements. If you can still remember, the frustration also happened in the released of the iPhone 4S. On the outside you cannot see any major design improvements not until you see the detailed specs below.

But as expected the new iPad (the name given by Apple and not iPad 3 or iPad HD) is a little bulky compared to the iPad 2. It’s because of the hardware improvements on the battery to support the upgraded (A5X SoC) processor with enhanced graphics capabilities. If you’re a game or movie addict you should see a huge difference between iPad 2 and the new iPad because of the Retina display that boasts a total resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels enclosed in the same 9.7 inch display.

The new iPad a.k.a iPad 3 Tech Specs

In addition to the high-definition display thanks to the Retina technology, the consumers of the new iPad can also enjoy capturing HD videos at 1080p @ 30 fps using the improved 5 MP rear camera compared to the 0.7 MP of the iPad 2. And last but not the least, the newest iPad as expected by many has included the high-speed 4G LTE connectivity. This means that instead of browsing at 7.2 Mbps using your iPad 2, you can now reach a maximum speed of 73 Mbps on the new iPad. Of course this is dependent on your location and local carrier if they already rolled out LTE for you.

Oh and I forgot the new iPad doesn’t have Siri installed but they added voice dictation for emails and messaging. Maybe that is why Apple is not calling it the iPad 3 similar to the iPhone 4S in which Apple fans expected it to be the iPhone 5. Can we call it the iPad HD? Maybe. If you listened to the iPad video very closely they did mentioned the word ‘third generation iPad’. Does it mean that it is indeed the iPad 3?

Given these improvements on the display, CPU, camera and LTE connectivity would you consider buying the newest iPad? Let us know by posting your comments below.
