Free App: Plants War is Like Mini-DOTA for iPad and iPhone Users

I have been playing this game for almost 2 days in a row and all that I can say is that it resembles much of the features of the popular DOTA (Defense of the Ancients) mod for Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos and The Frozen Throne. The game has its own set of heroes starting with Leafy, Quick Leafy, Spear Leafy, Splash Leafy and Muscle Leafy. Yes, you guess it right; they are plant heroes trying to protect Dryad Forest from the Beasts. Just like the heroes in DOTA, each plant heroes has unique skills and abilities that you can use in battle in each map or stages. Currently there are 30 maps or stages in which you can proceed only if you defeat the Boss monster in each map.

In this game you control only one hero but you can summon up to three including Tree Defender, Elite Pea Sniper and Leaf Tanker to help you in the game. Similar in the DOTA game, there are small plant-like creatures called ‘spawns’ that appears periodically that will help you defend your stronghold. As you progress through the game by defeating the Boss monster and its spawns you will earn Gold or Leaf that you can use to buy items. You can buy Health Potion, Mana Potion, Hero Rebirth, Regen Plants, Recall, Hero, Cooltime Zero, Stat Point and the three heroes that you can summon that we have mentioned before.

But unlike DOTA, you can choose a different set of ‘spawns’ that you can use to win a battle. Each spawn just like the plant heroes possesses unique skills and attacks. Some of the ‘spawn’ that needs to be purchased is Tree Protector, Potato Blower, Stem Skewer, Twin Flower, FruitPult, Muscle Tree and Pea Sniper.

The only not so good about this game is that you really need to spend a thousand gold and a hundreds of leaf to unlock each ‘spawn’. But in my case I already reach stage 26 without spending a dime. I already unlocked Quick Leafy using the Golds that I earned in my previous battles but I’m stuck in this stage for so many times. If I get to unlock Spear Leafy with 9900 Gold, maybe that is the time that I will defeat the Boss monster in stage 26.

All in all the Plants War game is very addicting that you will get hooked in your attempt to defeat the Boss monster and unlocked the other plant heroes to experience a different battle using different attack combos. Enjoy!
