NOTE: Make sure that the “Allow Installation of Application from Unknown Sources” is already switched ON. Also you should enable the “Side Loading Apps” on your Kindle to make this work. If you’re already done with these steps, proceed to the instructions below.

  4. On your Kindle go to Settings > Applications then uncheck Unknown Sources box.
  5. Launch ADB.
  6. Execute adb kill-server and adb devices.
  7. If you see your device listed, then you’re good to go.

[MAC]

  1. Connect your Kindle to your Mac.
  2. Open the ~/.android/adb_usb.ini file using Emacs or any text editor.
  3. Append the 0×1949 code at the end of the file then save the changes.

  5. Execute adb kill-server and adb devices.
  6. If you see your device listed, then you’re good to go.

WARNING: Do not blame anyone if something happens to your device. The instructions presented here are for those people who understand what they are doing with their device.

Install the Google Service Framework

  1. Copy the Google Service Framework APK file to your Kindle.
  2. Run Root Explorer or ES File Explorer to install the Google Service Framework APK file on your Kindle Fire.
  3. Copy the Vending APK file to System > App folder.
  4. Use ADB to change the file permission for Vending.APK
  5. Launch ADB
  6. Make sure that root owns the file by executing chown root.root Vending.apk.
  7. Verify if you’re successful by issuing the command ls –l
  8. Change the file permission to RW by issuing chmod 644 Vending.apk.
  9. Checked again by issuing the command ls –l. The file should now have the –rw-r–r—permission.
  10. Once you’re done with the correct file permission reboot your Kindle Fire.

Install the Launcher for Android Market

You can choose to install the Go Launcher or the Market Opener so that you can access the Android Market from your Kindle. Many users choose the MarketOpener.apk because for them it’s much easier to use. The installation will be the same for both launcher so you should not have problem installing either of the two. But don’t install them both at the same time because I really don’t know if it will cause you some problems.

  1. Copy your preferred Android Market launcher to your Kindle Fire.
  2. Using Root Explorer or ES File Explorer navigate to the folder location where you put the files.
  3. Install the APK file.
  4. Press the ‘Home’ button
  5. If you install the MarketOpener, you should see a market icon on the Kindle UI. But if you install the Go Launcher select it to launch the Android Market.

You can see that the installation process was a little bit tedious and a little bit complex for novice users. But guided with the right tools and the right info you should be able to do this on your own. Have a nice day!.
