What is Unix? It is simply dubbed as one of the world’s leading operating systems. Previously it was called Multics and today it was used by top corporations like IBM, HP, Oracle and many others that rely on it’s most recognizable feature – security.

I bet you know what I’m going to say next. Yes, he’s one of the creators of Unix. More importantly, he’s responsible for Unix’s math library, data encryption functions and password structure. He is a computer scientist and cryptographer that sometimes spends his time decrypting FBI retrieved evidence.

Why worth mentioning his name here? Well, though everyone reading this might not know this yet that your favorite Unix variant – the MAC OS X operating system and it’s core functions were derived from Unix. As well as the Solaris, Linux, Cent OS just to mention a few. But you will not believed me, that the most famous mobile phone platform today were also basically a derivation from Unix. Yes, it’s the Android operating system and was created by Google. And last but not the least is the Apple’s iPhone iOS.

Now that you know who he is and his huge contributions to the modern computing world. I think that we owe him a big thanks for everything that he has done to the IT world. He died last Sunday on the 26th day of June at the age of 78.
