Having the latest and up-to-date kernel gives you the benefit of having improved hardware support and bug fixes. So you might be getting the new fixes that will enable your device to support many hardware functions like overclocking, camera support, undervolting, wifi etc. But this is just the ideal scenario why we flash so frequently. The truth is, flashing can sometimes make or break things that were previously working well. Additionally, if you break your device you will then resort to re-flashing to revert back to your old kernel just to save your precious gadget. But thanks to the application developed by an XDA member Chad0989 you will no longer have to re-flash your boot.img if something goes wrong. All you have to do is to install this application and it will allow you to control your kernel’s functions using a GUI interface. But before that you should install Incredikernel first. Incredikernel allows you to improve some system functions like USB fast charge and audio boost. To enable a function or tweak a particular parameters on Incredikernel you have to use Incredicontrol. In the near future this application will allow you to disable a particular function of a kernel if its not supported. So if something goes wrong with your kernel, all you have to do is disable that function via Incredicontrol.
Currently what you can control with this application is audio boost and usb fast charge. So after installing Incredikernel and find out that your device does not support say, USB fast charge you just have to disable it using Incredicontrol. With this application you no longer have to manually change some files using remote terminal or ADB.
